Sexual Crimes and Child Pornography

Sexual crimes in Florida range in severity according to the age of the victims and whether force or weapons were used. A conviction for a sexual-based crime in Florida subjects the accused to lifetime registration as a sexual offender or sexual predator. In severe cases, under the Jimmy Ryce Act, prosecutors can call for the civil commitment of the offender until an evaluation by psychiatrists of the state of Florida deems the offender a “threat to reoffend.”

Our Florida criminal defense attorney, Mr. Maxwell, was a sex crime prosecutor prior to leaving the state attorney’s office, and was trained at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Alexandria, VA. With this experience, Mr. Maxwell is not afraid to aggressively defend sexual charges. We know from experience that many times, allegations of sexual abuse are made up. We know what to look for. We know the proper defense litigation and how to handle the alleged victims. With the help of our team of investigators and computer/Internet experts, we know how to handle and assist in child pornography and Internet cases.
